Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society
Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society met on Monday at St. Hedwig's Social Center.
President Martha Bialaszewski welcomed the members. She and other officers led the recitation of the Rosary and prayers for ill and deceased members.
Nancy A. Woloszyn read the opening prayer for the meeting.
Secretary Carole Schiller gave the minutes from the June and September meetings. Treasurer Lucille Bartkowski gave the financial report from the months of June and September. Both were accepted by all present. Pat Kokocinski, sunshine chairman, reported the illness of Helen Deszcz.
Members with summer birthdays were wished belated happiness in the coming year.
On Oct. 17 the annual living Rosary will be held at St. Hyacinth's church. Participants are to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the lyceum.
At this time a Thank You Pantry Shower will be given for the Felician Sisters for all they do in the parish and at church. A reception will follow at the lyceum.
The attendance prize at the meeting was won by Rose Gawronski.
Stella Michalak gave the closing prayer.
Tables were decorated with blue placemats, milkglass vases filled with fall flowers and tea lights. Sandwiches and fall pies were served by Rita Szot, Sandra Tapasto, Marilyn Nalepa, Theresa Szocki and Gerry Szukala. A raffle prize give-away and Bingo followed.
The Nov. 5 meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Hyacinth's Lyceum. Election of next year's officers will take place.
Holy Trinity Seniors
The Holy Trinity Seniors held their Halloween Party meeting at Bob Evans on Thursday.
In the absence of President Rita Lombardo, Secretary Josie Wierczynski called the meeting to order. She gave the Invocation.
Wierczynski read the minutes of the previous meeting. They were accepted as read. No treasury report was given as it was not yet available.
The table was adorned with pumpkins and autumn leaves. Members wore masks and wigs to celebrate the season. The first prize was won by Wierczynski and second prize went to Ann Schlichter. Prizes were furnished by Mary Dunbar.
Everyone enjoyed a meal of their choosing, and the service was wonderful.
The Thanksgiving dinner meeting was discussed, and will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Demetri's Restaurant.
