Friends of Barker Library plan annual meeting

October 13, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Friends of the Darwin R. Barker Library Board of Directors met recently to plan the annual meeting for 2012, which will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Steele Room of the library. Following a brief business meeting, the organization will vote to approve a slate of officers and directors. The museum will be open that afternoon and that light refreshments will follow.

Begun in 1977, the Friends is a voluntary support group which serves to provide needed funding for equipment and services not covered by other financial sources. The group welcomes everyone in the community to join. There are various monetary levels, starting at $10 for an annual individual membership. Forms for signing up are available at the main desk in the library. This past year, membership grew from 140 to 179 members.

This annual meeting is open to all, to both current members and all others interested in joining.
