Janis M. Latona, 66, of Fredonia, died Friday evening, October 12, 2012, at home with her family at her side. She was born August 27, 1946 in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Michael and Jeanette (Sorce) Granata, a graduate of Fredonia High School class of 1965, and retired employee of Al Tech
Speciality Steel Plant in Dunkirk. Janis enjoyed her second home at the Villages in Lady Lake, Florida, and golfing, her golf cart, going to the casinos, coffee with "The Gang," visiting her children and grandchildren and the weekly game of "Bunko." Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Joseph A. Latona Sr., whom she married September 18, 1965; their children Brenda (Paul) Szukala of Hilliard, Ohio, Laura (Steve) Gilbert of Silver Creek, Dr. Joseph (Tara) Latona Jr., of Hilliard, Ohio; brother Michael (Linda) Granata of Fredonia; grandchildren Christine, Michael, Kevin Szukala, Brittany, Kraig, Emily Gilbert, Addison Latona; along with cousins, nieces and nephews also surviving. Preceded in death in addition to her parents are her sister Nancy (Mike) Coil, brother-in-law Walter Latona, mother-in-law and father-in-law Sophie and Frank Latona. Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity
