Nick Novelli was in goal for the Steelers and recorded the shutout. Stephen Aldrich had two goals while Carter D'Agostino and Tyler Sack each had one goal to lead the Steelers. Owen Nicosia had two assists while Nicholas Pchelka had one assist.
Niagara Junior Purple Eagles 5, Fredonia Steelers 1
The Junior Purple Eagles defeated the Steelers at Steele Hall. Owen Nicosia had the lone goal for the Steelers with Carter D'Agostino having the assist. Nick Novelli was in goal.
The Purple Eagles led, 1-0, after the first period and 2-1 after the second period before scoring three goals in the third period.
The Steelers (2-2 overall) are at home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against Cazenovia.

Center programs
Family Martial Arts Center is offering a two free weeks of training for anyone ages 3-18 from Oct. 22 to Nov. 3.
Registration will take place Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon or by emailing karateman1965@hotmail.com.

Due to inclement weather, league play was cancelled this past week.
For Wednesday, Oct. 17, the league travels to Riverside Golf Club in Cambridge Springs, Pa. Tee-off is at 10 a.m. Golfers interested in playing should contact Butch Mackowiak at 679-4027.
League play will continue as long as courses are open this season.

Hammerhead Swim Club
Seventeen Hammerhead Swim Club members recently participated in a meet at Orchard Park. Swimming in their first ever meet for HHSC were Megan Foley, Jane Fortna and Julia Fortna. HHSC swimmers had one first place, one second place two third and fifteen top 10 finishes at the meet. There were three silver times, one gold time and a total of 21 personal best times achieved (listed below).
