CHAUTAUQUA - On Oct. 11, Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies served Joseph C. Smeraldo, 51, of Jamestown, with an appearance ticket for issuing a bad check. The incident occurred on Sept. 11 at A-Automotive on Honeysette Road in the Town of Chautauqua. Smeraldo will appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later time to answer the charge.
Westfield Police Department
Around 4:20 p.m., an officer on patrol on North Portage Street in the Village of Westfield when he allegedly observed a northbound vehicle at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped and the officer identified Jonathan Malave, 31, of Rochester, as the operator. Upon further investigation, it was alleged Malave's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in New York State had been suspended. Malave was issued traffic tickets and will appear in the Village of Westfield Court at a later date.
Around 6 p.m., a Westfield police officer was on patrol on English Street in the Village of Westfield when he allegedly observed a suspicious vehicle parked near the railroad tracks. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was found to be occupied by Anthony J. Crouch, 30, of Sherman, who had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Village of Westfield Court for unpaid fines, Crouch was arraigned in the Village of Westfield Court and released after paying the full amount of the fine.
Around 11:10 p.m., Westfield police responded to a suspicious person complaint at 40 Spring Street in the Village of Westfield. According to witnesses, a subject was observed parking at an apartment complex and was seen wandering through back yards in the area.
Westfield officers located the subject, Joshua M. Winslow, 26, of East Main Street, Westfield. Subsequent to investigation, Winslow was allegedly found to be in possession of brass/metal knuckles. Winslow was issued an appearance ticket for the Village of Westfield Court at a later date.
