Warrant issued for unemployment benefits theft

An arrest warrant for Vaccaro was issued after the New York State Department of Labor discovered that Vaccaro had collected more than $4,500 in unemployment benefits while he was employed. Vaccaro has ties in Lockport, Cheektowaga and Jamestown.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police in Lockport at 434-5588.

Jason M. Sack, 38, of Silver Creek, was arraigned for driving while intoxicated, no registration and aggravated unlicensed operation. He was released on his own recognizance and will appear in court Dec. 5.

Collins man charged with falsely reporting stolen vehicle

VERSAILLES - On Sunday, Ian A. Johengen, 31, of Versailles was charged with making a false statement and third-degree falsely reporting an incident.

Johengen initially reported his pickup was stolen from in front of his residence during the early morning hours Saturday.

During the investigation, troopers discovered that the vehicle had been impounded by the Erie County Sheriff's Department. It was reportedly abandoned with extensive damage on Versailles Plank Road on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.

After an investigation, the state police determined that Johengen was the sole occupant of the truck and he was operating it when it was involved in a property damage accident on Saturday.

Johengen was processed at state police barracks in Collins and released on appearance tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Perrysburg Court on Oct. 25.

Evan M. Luke, 23, was charged with driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his vehicle on State Route 438 and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

Luke was processed at state police barracks in Collins where a breath test was administered reportedly recording a blood alcohol level of .14 percent.

Luke was released on traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Collins Court on Nov. 7.
