WESTFIELD - Savannah Rowan was a brick wall Wednesday as she helped the Westfield-Brocton Lady Wolverines (4-10-1) battle Olean (7-6-3) to a 0-0 tie in CCAA Division 1 girls' high school soccer.

Rowan made 20 saves to preserve the shutout.

"Savannah did a great job today," Westfield coach Neil Huber said. "She was on top of her game."

Westfield’s Rachel Allen (14) fights off an Olean defender during Wednesday’s CCAA?Division 1 girls’ high school soccer game. The Lady Wolverines and?Lady Huskies battled to a 0-0 tie as Westfield-Brocton goalie Savannah?Rowan made 20 saves.

In fact, Huber said the entire team played great.

"Today was the best game they played all year," he said. "Last time we lost to them, 5-1. We were able to play a great game and stuck to our guns, which was a very, very important game for the girls for their confidence.

"We have been struggling this year," Huber admitted. "It was a huge learning curve for these girls. We went from being the team with only a handful of players coming back to a unit that had to learn to play together and win together. We haven't won, but we are playing together as a team. They have come a long ways. I'm very proud of these girls."

Olean's goalie, Maddy Stavish, made five saves.

Westfield returns to action tonight when it hosts Silver Creek.
