NCCS surrendered a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning and could not recover, losing to St. Amelia's of Amherst in the quarterfinals of the Diocesan playoffs.
Despite outhitting the opposition 8-3, nine walks were key in the loss. Noah Fleckenstein led the Monarchs with two hits while Charlie Roth and Caitlyn Cybart each scored twice. Dan Barnes and Bryan Dempsey shared pitching duties in the loss.
The Varsity Purple and Gold finish the year with an 8-6 overall record, reaching the WNY Diocesan playoffs for the 10th straight year.
