Robert and Betty Anderson

Robert and Betty Anderson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Oct. 6, 1962, at the Portland Congregational Church in Portland. Their attendants included Doris (Burgess) Campbell as the maid of honor and the late Richard Carmen as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Blume.

Betty is the daughter of James and Marie Burgess. She is retired from the Frewsburg Rest Home as a housekeeper.

Robert is the son of John and Alice Anderson. He is retired from the Jamestown Police force and from the Falconer School District as a bus driver.

The couple has five children: Jerry Anderson of Ellington; Michael Anderson of Jamestown; Kimberly Collins of Dunkirk; Robert Anderson Jr. of Manteca, Calif.; and Tracy Davenport of Fisherville, Ky. The couple also has 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

An open house was held at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds in Gerry in honor of their anniversary.
