'Complaining'
gets spotlight
Editor, OBSERVER:
I have read and reread all the articles and comments regarding the village of Forestville Superintendent and I am distressed that only negative articles are published by your paper. These residents who seem to do all the complaining, and, it appears there are only a handful, must not have any positive and worthwhile activities to keep them occupied.
Spying on workers doing their jobs and accusing board members of not having control over employees reeks of chronic complaining. Those few people should hang their heads in shame for trying to destroy the good name of a hard working employee.
Perhaps one of them should apply for the job and see the difficulties involved. William Bentzoni is to be commended for not attacking these people as they have attacked him and his family.
It will be interesting to read if you publish this reader's comments.

Board can wait
to fill open seats
Editor, OBSERVER:
This letter is a formal request to the village of Forestville board not to appoint a new mayor or village trustee until the results of the audit are completed and made known to residents.
Trustees Beth Bowker, Carol Woodward, former trustee Justin Dix and former Mayor Charles Brewster voted "aye" that accounts of the village clerk, treasurer and tax collector were audited by the Village Board and to the best of their knowledge and belief found to be correct as of April 12. If the audit is not favorable, this would imply that they misunderstood the purpose of an audit.
No harm will be done by waiting until March for the citizens to elect the new mayor and new trustee. A small cost savings would also result from this action.

'great job'
Editor, OBSERVER:
Shame on you, the Forestville residents, who brought about the resignation of a good village employee.
Shame on the village board for not standing up for this man. You should have said he did a great job and he's staying.
Lastly, shame on the village water problems, and I am not talking about old pipes.
EILEEN EACKER,
