COLLINS CENTER - Isabelle H. Schneider, 90, of Route 39 passed away Saturday (Oct. 20, 2012) at the Gowanda Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 28, 1922 in Hanover, N.Y., the daughter of the late William and Ida (Pelton) Lawton.
On Sept. 30, 1940, she married George J. Schneider who predeceased her on Nov. 25, 1982.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by a daughter, Virginia Bates of Collins Center, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Karen, Dana, Troy and Kathy; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren: Natalie, Hope, Navaeh and Derick; a sister Helen Ostrye of Forestville, N.Y. and a daughter-in-law, Janice Schneider of Collins Center, N.Y. She also had many foster children and nieces and nephews.
Beside her husband, she was predeceased by two sons: Allen and Wayne Schneider; a daughter, Marjorie Schneider; seven brothers: Milford, William, Roy, Edwin, Fabius, Bert and Donald Lawton; a sister Violet Kieffer; and two grandsons: Derrick and Darrin.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home to-day (Oct. 22, 2012) from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Oct. 23, 2012) at 11 a.m. from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Collins Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Collins Center Vol. Fire Dept. or Collins Center United Methodist Church.
