October 25, 2012
OBSERVER Sports Report , The OBSERVER

Fredonia may be playing its best volleyball of the season following Wednesday's Class C playoff win over Tonawanda, at Fredonia High School.

The No. 16 Lady Hillbillies had little trouble with the No. 17 Lady Warriors, winning by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-13.

"The thing about my team is they never quit," Fredonia coach Chris Anderson said. "They've never given up. They fought all season and I wasn't surprised to see them play as well as they did tonight."

Makenzie Tarnowski led the team with nine kills and a pair of aces.

Aces were the name of the game for the Lady Hillbillies as Margaret Wright and Alyssa Crespo combined for nine to go with their eight kills.

Maddie Crandall really set the tempo for the offense with 15 assists, two aces and three kills.

Fredonia won't get any rest as it returns to action today against the No. 1 seed in Class C, City Honors.
