Theresa M. Miga, 89, of Dunkirk, died Sunday evening, October 28, 2012, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 6, 1923, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Casimer and Mary (Kurgan) Kaleta.
A retired employee of the Galley Restaurant in Dunkirk, Theresa was a past employee of the White Inn and the former Town and Country Restaurant and Kraft Foods in Dunkirk.

She was a member of Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Marcia (Clifford) Nickerson of Brocton, James Miga of Daytona Beach, Fla., Jerry (Darlene) Miga of Ft. Mead, Fla., and John (Audrey) Miga, Michael (Laura) Miga, Linda (Thomas) Logan and Donna (Allen) Palmatier, all of Dunkirk; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Michael F. Miga, who died September 11, 2000; a daughter, Carolyn Marie Miga; a grand-daughter, Stephanie Palmatier; a grandson, Mark Nickerson; a brother, Peter Kaleta; and four sisters Eleanor Matyjakowski, Genevieve Kaus, Blanche Purol and Elizabeth Kaleta.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
