Catherine L. Wojcinski, 62, of Fredonia died Tuesday evening (Oct. 30, 2012) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
She was born July 1, 1950 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Casimer and Betty (Orts) Zielinski.
A 1968 Dunkirk High School graduate, Catherine earned a bachelor's degree in education from SUNY Brockport and a master's degree in early childhood education from SUNY Fredonia. She had currently been employed at the Dunkirk Free Library. She previously had worked as a teacher at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School and as a teacher's aide at School 7 in Dunkirk.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Chadwick Bay Professional Women's Association and the Dunkirk Yacht Club.
Catherine especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Wojcinski, whom she married Sept. 23, 1972; three sons, Mark (Tani) Wojcinski, Scott Wojcinski and Brian Wojcinski, all of Dunkirk; four grandchildren, Preston Perry, Ikaika Wojcinski, Kahealani Wojcinski and Carilene Sliwa; two brothers, Steven (Darlene) Zielinski of Corning and Alan (Kathy) Zielinski of Lutz, Fla.; one sister, Laura Zielinski of Utah; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dunkirk Free Library.
