Helen L. Ryczko, 87, of South Martin Street, Dunkirk, NY died Wednesday (Oct. 31, 2012) at the Absolut at Dunkirk.
She was born in Dunkirk on Feb. 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Rodzen) Ryczko.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Miss Ryczko was a retired employee of Marsh Valve. During World War II, she worked in aircraft production for Curtis-Wright in Buffalo, installing windows in fighter planes.

She enjoyed visiting the casinos and scratch off lottery tickets, and loved cats. She was a member of Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish-St. Hyacinth's Church.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces, including her niece and godchild, Janet (Joseph) Rozen of Dunkirk.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Stanley, Anthony and Joseph Ryczko; and four sisters, Mary Kitzer, Wanda Tofil, Catherine Mucha and Stella LaMont.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish - St. Hyacinth's Church. Private interment will be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either St. Hyacinth's Cemetery Fund or the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 East Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
