Police seek public's help

JAMESTOWN - Investi-gators from the Jamestown Police Department are looking for assistance from the public in locating a man wanted for burglary in Jamestown and Cattaraugus County as well as a probation violation issued in Cattaraugus County.

Wayne B. Wright III, 19, of Jamestown, is a suspect in several recent burglaries in the city of Jamestown. Wright is believed to be involved in a recent burglary in which a handgun was taken from a local residence. Wright is also wanted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office for a probation violation and a bench warrant for burglary.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wright is asked to contact the Jamestown police at 483-7537. Anonymous tips can be made by calling 483-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.

Two transported to hospital after accident

HANOVER - On Thursday, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with Irving and Silver Creek fire departments and Alstar ambulance, responded to a personal injury car accident on Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover.

Investigation allegedly revealed that Brenda Jimerson, 39, of Gowanda, allegedly pulled out of a driveway into the path of another vehicle operated by Michael Gould, 28, of Silver Creek. Both drivers were transported to Lake Shore Hospital by ambulance for apparently minor injuries.

Jimerson was issued a ticket for fail to yield the right of way and Gould was issued a ticket for operating while registration suspended or revoked. Both parties will answer the charges in Hanover Court.

Stockton man charged with gun and multiple drug violations

ELLERY - On Thursday, a Stockton man was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance out of original container following an accident.

Around 8:05 p.m. deputies along with Sinclairville EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 380 in the Town of Ellery. Upon arrival deputies spoke with Russell Calanni, 59, of Stockton, who was identified as one of the drivers who was involved in the accident. Upon further investigation it was alleged Calanni was in possession of an unregistered hand gun along with several controlled substances. Calanni was taken into custody without incident for the charges and committed to Chautauqua County Jail with no bail and will appear back in court at a later date and time.

Falconer man fires gun at person at his home

FALCONER - On Thursday, a Falconer man was charged with reckless endangerment.

Around 4:45 a.m., it is alleged James McGrath, 42, of Quaint Road in Falconer, became upset that an individual was on his property after being told to leave and fired a gun into the ground in the direction of the individual. No injuries were sustained. McGrath was arrested for second-degree reckless endangerment and arraigned in the Town of Poland court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash or $2000 property bail.

HANOVER - On Oct. 26, an Erie, Pa. man was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and speed in zone.

Around 11:55 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on Routes 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover. The driver was identified as Matthew Piglowski, 47, of Erie, Pa.

Upon further investigation Piglowski was alleged to be intoxicated. Piglowski was charged with speed in zone, DWI, and DWI per se .08 percent Blood alcohol content or higher. Piglowski will appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK - On Oct. 26 a Silver Creek man was charged with second-degree harassment.

Around 4:30 a.m. the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office along with Silver Creek Police Department responded to an address in the Town of Hanover. Upon investigation, Robert D. Sek, 40, of Silver Creek, was charged with second-degree harassment after an alleged incident.

Sek was arraigned in the Town of Hanover court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

CHAUTAUQUA - On Wednesday, a Jamestown woman was charged with loud exhaust, unsafe tire, broken windshield, fail to maintain lane, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, aggravated DWI with blood alcohol content of .18% or higher.

Around 12:55a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Elmwood Lane in the Town of Chautauqua for a loud exhaust. The driver of the vehicle also failed to maintain its lane. The driver was identified as Chelsea M. Gifford, 22, of Jamestown.

Upon further investigation Gifford was alleged to be intoxicated. Gifford ticketed for the charges and was released to appear in the town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE - On Oct. 29, a Jamestown man was charged with passing on the right after a minor traffic accident.

Around 3:20 p.m., E. R. Carrillo-Jones, 44, of Jamestown, was traveling south on Erie Street in Mayville and passed another vehicle on the right as it was turning right onto Morris Street, causing a minor collision between both vehicles. No injuries were sustained. Carrillo-Jones will appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date to answer the charge.

DUNKIRK - On Oct. 14, a Dunkirk man was charged with DWI and DWI per se.

Around 5:05 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a reported vehicle off the road on Route 5 in the Town of Dunkirk. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Marcos A. Torres, 34, of Dunkirk, the operator of the vehicle, who stated he swerved to miss a deer and ran off the roadway. Following a roadside investigation, Torres was charged with DWI and is to appear in the Town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.

CASSADAGA - On Oct. 13, a Mayville man was charged with DWI, DWI per se and speed in zone.

Around 12:15 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Maple Avenue in the Village of Cassadaga for speeding. The driver, Adam Brandi, 24, of Mayville, was found to be the operator of the vehicle. After investigation, it is alleged Brandi was intoxicated. He was charged and released with traffic tickets to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date.

New York State Police

Fredonia Troopers arrested Rafael A. Fuentes, 40, of Fredonia, for felony driving while intoxicated on Nov. 2. Fuentes was traveling east on Route 20 in the Town of Sheridan and failed to dim his high beams. He was also observed going over the center and fog lines. After allegedly failing field sobriety tests he was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and brought to the Fredonia Barracks. His blood alcohol content was alleged to be .20 percent and he was additionally charged with aggravated DWI. Due to a previous felony DWI conviction within the last ten years, he was charged with a class D felony. He was issued tickets for the Town of Sheridan Court to appear on Nov. 15.
