Gowanda Board of Education swears in student member

GOWANDA - The Gowanda Board of Educa-tion will have another student's perspective this year on the board.

The board selected a student representative to serve on this year's board. Senior Cayleigh Pracht was sworn in as student member of the board at a recent meeting. President Mark Nephew said having a student's views to weigh in on board matters is important.

In other matters, Charisse Sprague was appointed basketball cheerleading adviser, Bryan Brawdy was appointed JV boys basketball coach, Andrew Bobseine was appointed JV boys basketball volunteer, and Meghan Himelein was appointed varsity girls basketball volunteer. Debbie Wells was appointed as a school monitor in the department of transportation, Sylvia Joslin was appointed as a food service helper, Teresa Oger was appointed as a school monitor in study hall.

The board approved the annual professional performance review (APPR) plan.

The next regular meeting will be Wednesday. This meeting will be the only meeting in November. The Nov. 21 regular meeting has been canceled.
