CATTARAUGUS TERRITORY, IRVING - Barry Snyder won the hotly contested six-way race for Seneca Nation President and will lead the Seneca Nation for the next two years. Rod Pierce from the Allegany territory was elected to serve as the Nation's Treasurer and Geraldine Huff was elected Clerk.
Snyder received 929 votes to defeat Richard E. Nephew, who received 704 votes. A total of 2,636 Seneca voters turned out at the polls on the Cattaraugus and Allegany territories Tuesday. Rod Pierce won the race for Treasurer, receiving 1,106 votes, defeating Robert Porter who received 786 votes.
Elected to the four Cattaraugus Councilor seats were Jeff Gill, Christina Jimerson, Linda Doxtator and Shelley Huff. The four Allegany Council seats were won by Morris Abrams, Arlene Bova, Kevin Printup and Mike Williams.
From the Cattaraugus Territory, Keith White Sr. was elected as Chief Marshal; Lance Cooper, Darby Leroy and Diana Maybee were elected Marshals; Stanley Jimerson, Terry Nephew and David Pierce were elected Assessors. In addition, Elmer Logan was elected Highway Commissioner and Llona Leroy will serve as Poormaster.
Kara John was elected as Chief Marshal for the Allegany Territory. David Isaac, Clifford Pierce and Randy White were elected Marshals; Brenda Redeye, Sally Huff and Ronald Kenjockety were elected as Assessors while Jason John won for Highway Commissioner and Rae Lynn George as Poormaster of the Allegany Territory.
