Twenty years ago - 1992

Rob Matteson has become the area's newest dealer for Lok-N-Logs Inc., a Central New York-based log home manufacturer. His new dealership is known as Wine Country Log Homes Inc. located at 2017 King Road, Forestville. He will be happy to escort prospective homeowners through his home and help them design their own log home or choose from 26 pre-cut kits.

Thirty years ago - 1982

"Definite arson" are words used in the official investigation report of the fire which recently ripped through the Bluebird Restaurant on Howard Street in Silver Creek. The fire was ignited in the back storage room which was filled with boxes. Investigators have determined that the fire had been burning at least 45 minutes before it was reported. The fire completely destroyed the two-story structure.

Forty years ago - 1972

Love of Pete, a new gift and card shop, recently held its grand opening at 14 West Main St., Fredonia.

Fifty years ago - 1962

The eighth-grade Civics Club of St. Hyacinth's School has received its official charter from the Commission on American Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The charter formally recognizes affiliation of the local unit with the national organization at the Catholic University of America.
