Karen J. Eklum, 67, of Spring Street, Fredonia died Monday afternoon (Nov. 5, 2012) at her residence.
Born in Buffalo, NY on Nov. 14, 1944, she was the daughter of John Hathaway Sr. of Sebring, Fla., and the
late Jean (Knapp) Hathaway.
A resident of Fredonia for most of her life, Karen was a former employee of Robert's Jewelers.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Peter R. Eklum of Fredonia; her son, Timothy
Eklum of Seattle, Wash.; her grandson, Shaun Zmuda of Fredonia; her sister, Carol Harold, and her brother, John Hathaway Jr., both of Florida. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathon Marc Eklum, who died July 31, 1998.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements are by the Newman Funeral Home Inc.
