HANOVER - A Silver Creek man is sought by authorities following a vehicle crash on Route 5 that left one person dead.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, at about 3 a.m. Thursday a vehicle was traveling westbound on Routes 5 and 20, turned onto the split on Route 5, lost control and crashed into a concrete abutment in the ditch on the south side of the road.

Police believe Jeremiah Burgess was the driver of this vehicle that killed Jeremy Long.

A passenger in the accident was killed. The driver fled the scene and has not been located.

The passenger was identified as Jeremy M. Long, 22, of Silver Creek.

Police believe the driver is Jeremiah S. Burgess, 22. He is 6 foot tall, weighs 270 pounds and is currently wanted by police.
