Lake Shore, MHC, a majority shareholder of Lake Shore Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of Lake Shore Savings Bank recently announced a new initiative which extends scale of the Company's support of not for profit organizations throughout the Western New York Community.
Lake Shore, MHC will donate $1,000 to each of 25 nonprofits in the area. These funds may be used to support operations, underwrite current programs or seed new initiatives.
"This new initiative tangibly proves our long standing philosophy of 'Putting People First.' We'll be selecting highly deserving charitable organizations in Western New York who will each receive a grant to further their work in the area. And we're particularly happy about the selection process which includes our community's Women of Influence," Daniel Reininga, president and CEO, said.
The Board of Directors of Lake Shore, MHC has asked the recipients of this year's Western New York Women of Influence awards to recommend local nonprofits as the recipients of the $1,000 grants. Each of the 25 honorees will designate one grant recipient.
"This year's Women of Influence award recipients represent every facet of our community. Their collective knowledge of the needs of Western New York's nonprofit groups is unsurpassed, and we're delighted that the Women of Influence honorees will assist us in making our grant selections," Reininga commented.
Grants will be awarded until the end of this year to the 25 organizations.
