Members honored for service

November 10, 2012
Special to the OBSERVER , The OBSERVER

ANGOLA - Members of the Lake Shore Central School District Board of Education were honored for their 50 years of combined service during a recent meeting. This recognition was in conjunction with School Board Recognition Week that is observed in more than 700 school districts across New York state.

The men and women serving as members of school boards are dedicated to children, learning, and community, and devote many hours of service to elementary and secondary public education as they continually strive for improvement, excellence and progress in education. The members of New York's local school boards respond to the educational needs of the communities they serve and, in doing so, these leaders help strengthen our New York state's educational system and improve future prospects for our children.

The Lake Shore Central School District would like to thank its board members for their dedication to the students, parents and community members. The members of the Board of Education and their years of service are: Jennifer Wackowski, president, seven years of service; Carla Thompson, vice president, five years of service; Dennis Feldmann, six years of service; Carmen Garozzo, eight years of service; Cindy Latimore, nine years of service; Dyan Scritchfield, four years of service; and Richard Vogan; 10 years of service, Callie Danzi, student representative, one year of service.
