November 13, 2012
The OBSERVER

SILVER CREEK - Members of the Silver Creek Elementary School Sun-shine Singers will present the Disney Youth Musical "Cinderella" in the district auditorium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Thursday, Nov. 15.

The story features the singing and acting talents of 32 fourth and fifth grade students in this portrayal of the popular fairy tale. The story describes how old Queen Ella and King Not-So-Charming Anymore celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by looking back at how and when they first met and were married as the young Cinderella and Prince Charming. Some very well-known songs will be performed, including "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo," "Sing, Sweet Night-ingale," and "So This is Love."

The production will be repeated in an in-school assembly for elementary students at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, and the cast will travel to St. Columban's Retirement Home the same afternoon to perform for the residents there. The musical is directed and accompanied on piano by Daniel L. Bromsted, Elementary Choral Director, and represents his 18th elementary musical for the district.
