The Dunkirk Police Department is still investigating two stabbing incidents that occurred on Friday.
"We are working on them and we are progressing well on them," Police Chief David Ortolano. "We've made very good progress thus far."
The police department is working on interviewing one of the victims from Friday's stabbing. The first victim was a male stabbed on the 400 block of Central Avenue. Shortly thereafter, another male victim was stabbed on lower Lincoln Avenue. Both victims were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Erie County Medical Center.
The victim from the Central Avenue incident was released from the hospital and the victim from Lincoln Avenue is still in the hospital.
Ortolano believes the incidents were not random.
"We don't believe it was a random act," he said. "It was people who know each other."
