The United Senior Citizens met on Monday at the Fredonia Beaver Club for the club's annual Thanksgiving dinner. As that day was also Veteran's Day, President St. George introduced all the veterans prior to the beginning of the program. They received enthusiastic applause.
St. George then introduced Fr. Walter Werbicki, who gave the invocation and prayer for all those who had served. The president then led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. A moment of silent prayer was held in honor of deceased member Allen Jones.
The Thanksgiving dinner was served and all enjoyed the turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, tossed salad, rolls, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

The meeting began by thanking the November calling committee, which was made up of Elizabeth Baldwin, Sandy Bain, Dorothy Hilliker, Ruth White, Shirley Tilburg and Josephine Wierczynski. the calling committee for the December meeting will be made up of Mary Ann Thompson, Pat Ebert, Lucy Saeli, Mary Gangi, Hilliker and Wierczynski.
The 50/50 winners were Ann Budniewski, Coniglio, Carmela Lucia, Gen Ludemann, Charles Mancuso, Nancy Mitchell, Moch, Geraldine Moch, Vicky Stelmach, Irene Tarnowski, Joyce Tarnowski, and the Rev. Walter Werbicki.
"Happy Birthday" was sung to members with November birthdays. They were Florine Barone, Jeanne Symczek, Joanna Brown, Binko, Lillian Polasik, Mary Sorci, Mary Tripi, Nancy St. George, Rev. Harland West, Rose Cerrie, Rose Mary Parisi, Leonard Catalano, Millie Kruszynski, Sandy Mitchell, Joyce Pietrkiewicz and Judy Siragusa.
The next scheduled luncheon will be the annual Christmas party on Dec. 10. It will start at 11 a.m. with a cheese and pepperoni tray, veggie tray, chicken wings and fruit punch. Dinner will be stuffed shells with sauce, meatballs, Italian bread, tossed mixed salad, coffee and dessert. The cost is $5 for all members who have paid their 2013 dues. Following the meeting, bingo was hosted by Mayme Joy and Gangi.
