Western NY lawyer’s prostitution charge dropped

November 16, 2012
The OBSERVER

PEMBROKE (AP) - A prostitution charge against a western New York lawyer has been dropped, but he still faces a drunken driving charge after being found asleep in a car with a former teen pageant princess who appeared on the reality show "Wife Swap."

It was reported Wednesday the soliciting a prostitute charge against Rochester attorney James Doyle was dismissed in Pembroke Town Court, where he's being prosecuted along with 21-year-old Alicia Guastaferro.

Guastaferro has pleaded not guilty to prostitution and drug possession charges. Her case is pending.

Both were arrested at a New York Thruway travel plaza in August. Court documents say she told state troopers Doyle paid her as much as $700 twice a month to spend the night and have sex, which he denied.
