A little bit can go a long way, especially for the Salvation Army.
The annual Red Kettle Campaign has begun throughout the area this month and while cash donations are welcome, there is one other aspect that is needed by the organization: volunteers to ring the bell.
"We're flexible," said Laura Gonzalez of the Salvation Army in Dunkirk. "A volunteer can volunteer a couple of hours or longer if the person wants. We will work with whatever a person can do."
To help with the bell ringing, call 366-3701 or 753-0998. Those willing to help are needed at Tops, P&G Foods, Big Lots and Walmart.
All donations assist area families and the Salvation Army's charitable efforts.
