Register by today for Lake Erie Women in Agriculture meeting on Monday night

November 21, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Lake Erie Women in Agriculture group will meet on Monday, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cornell Lake Erie Research and Extension Laboratory located at 6592 West Main Road, Portland.

The topic will be employee management, and the "Ten Things Your Employees Expect From You," a presentation developed for women in agriculture by Tom Maloney, Cornell University.

Ample time will be given for women to be able to discuss employee management issues and to share information with each other and network.

Labor is often one of the highest costs for a farm, and requires significant amounts of time. As most farms are owned and operated by families, women are often in charge of employee management.

Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Lake Erie Region Grape Program developed the Lake Erie Women in Agriculture to help farm women make connections with, and learn from, other women in agriculture, and to provide information about practices that improve their farm's production and financial viability.

Women involved in agricultural production of any industry are welcome to attend, and to bring friends, neighbors, and family with them.

Registration is requested by today: Ginny Carlberg 664-9502 x 202 or vec22@cornell.edu; Jodi Creasap-Gee 792-2800 x 204 or jec53@cornell.edu; Kevin Martin 792-2800 x 205 or kmm52@cornell.edu.

Cornell Cooperative Extension is an equal program opportunity provider, committed to providing Chautauqua County residents low-cost, high-quality, and research-based programs in agriculture, the environment, youth development and human services.
