50-Plus Seniors
COLLINS - The 50-Plus Seniors hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much turkey. It doesn't seem possible that the Christmas season has begun.
Highlight of this final November week is Friday afternoon's Community Service Day when the seniors will be busy finishing projects for the holiday season. A good turnout of volunteers is needed to complete the tasks 1 p.m. in the Senior Room at L. K. Painter Community Center.
Activities for the week are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday - indoor walking and exercise at 9 a.m., gymnasium. This three-part exercise program is led by Pat Tucker and helps to get a person moving on cold fall and winter mornings. In the afternoon on Monday, an informal euchre game starts at 1 p.m. in the Senior Room. Open to both beginners and experienced players, this is a fun afternoon.
On Tuesday and Thursday, gentle arthritis exercises are held at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium.
There are three Wednesday activities. Quilting with Florence is from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Community Room, Collins Public Library. For more information, call Florence Reynolds, 532-3075.
