Gerald A. Yonker, 64, of Silver Creek, died Saturday morning November 24, 2012, at home, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 14, 1948, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, son of the late Carl and Helen (Nocek) Yonker. Mr. Yonker was a graduate of Silver Creek High School, Class of 1967, and
attended Jamestown Community College and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree in 1970. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1972 and served our country until
1975 as an E5 Sergeant. After the military, Mr. Yonker was a dairy farmer and lifelong grape farmer. He was a member of Growers Co-Operative Grape Juice Company in Westfield for over 40 years, also a member of the former St. John Bosco R. C. Church in Sheridan. historical books. Survivors include his brother Robert C. Yonker, a sister Margaret (Robert) Lucas, a nephew Michael R. Lucas, niece Kathleen (David) Price and two
great-nieces Brianna and Allison Price. No calling hours will be observed. A prayer service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:30 with the Rev. Charles
J. Zadora to officiate at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk. Private Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
