Twenty years ago - 1992

Earlier this month, the city of Dunkirk installed parking meters for the 34 spaces in the municipal parking lot on Lynx Street in response to a request from the owners of the Stearns Court building. The owners felt that a lack of available customer parking (due to all-day parking in the lot by city hall employees) is causing problems for the businesses leasing space from them. The lot was created several years ago when the former St. Mary's convent building was demolished so that an existing lot could be expanded.

Forty years ago - 1972

Fredonia Central School has announced that Peter Criscione has been named interim varsity basketball coach at Fredonia High School. He will fill the temporary vacancy caused by the illness of Roger K. Moore, varsity basketball coach and athletic director.
