Arkwright: Pictures tell slippery story

November 28, 2012
The OBSERVER

Cheers to Arkwright's Charles McDermott.

The resident at Bard and Center roads is tiring of the numerous accidents occurring near his home, especially in the winter. With each accident, he is forwarding documentation - through photos - to the Sheriff's Department in the hopes the area can be deemed a hazard.

"First snow of the season; first car in the ditch at Center and Bard Road," he wrote in an e-mail while attaching a photo. "No injuries or damage thankfully."

Of course, safety on any road or street in winter conditions begins with the driver. However, if the accidents continue to be documented by McDermott, maybe a sign of warning is in order.

At least that way officials will know they have taken another step to make the intersection safer.
