Charges follow Gowanda accident

GOWANDA - The Go-wanda Police Department charged a female resident following a motor vehicle accident on Caroline Street.

Brittini S. Jones, 19, of Route 438 was charged following an accident on Nov. 21. At 9:30 p.m. a vehicle operated by Jones left the roadway and crashed into a vehicle parked in the front lawn of 69 Caroline St. Jones exhibited signs of intoxication. A DMV computer check revealed Jones' permit to drive had been revoked for a prior DWI conviction on Sept. 26, making this conviction a felony. She also failed to have a required alcohol interlock system once permitted to drive again.

The owner of the vehicle said Jones did not have permission to take the vehicle. Jones was transported to Lake Shore Hospital by ambulance for evaluation.

Jones was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a vehicle without an alcohol interlock system, failure to operate in lane and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
