WESTFIELD - The Westfield Tip-off Tournament provided a thrilling start to the high school basketball season, Saturday at Westfield Academy and Central School.
In the championship game, Andrew Graham scored 22 points to lead Sherman to a 64-58 overtime victory over host Westfield.
Ryan Robson and Devin Moorehouse were both in double-digits for Sherman with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Graham and Robson were both named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts.
Jon Coe led Westfield with 22 points of his own, but the Wildcats outscored the Wolverines 10-4 in the extra period. Coe earned tournament MVP honors with his performance.
In the consolation game, it was Frewsburg holding off Falconer, 57-55, behind 21 points from Alex Elderkin.
The Golden Falcons led by two going into the fourth quarter, but were unable to hold onto the lead despite a 17-point outburst by Nick Conti.
Both Elderkin and Conti were also named to the All-Tournament Team.
