Buffalo man charged following drug
investigation in city
A Buffalo man has been charged following an eight-month investigation into the crack cocaine sale activities in the area.
Mikial C. Moore, 24, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both class B felonies Dec. 3.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Dunkirk Police initiated the investigation and task force agents were able to make undercover narcotics buys from Moore. During the investigation, it was learned Moore was being held in the Erie County Holding Center on unrelated charges.
An arrest warrant from Dunkirk City Court Judge Walter Drag was obtained and officers from Dunkirk Police executed the warrant at the holding center. Moore was transported back to Dunkirk City Jail to be arraigned on Tuesday. Moore was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

10 dogs seized in Brant
BRANT - The Brant Police Department assisted by the New York State Police Collins patrol responded Monday to a domestic violence complaint at a Detroit Street residence.
Halbert L. Brooks, 53, of Farnham was charged with second-degree harassment. Tyrel D. Oden of St. Mary's Street in Buffalo was charged with a misdemeanor cruelty to animals charge of the Agriculture and Markets Law (353) and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator.
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Brant Court. Brooks posted bail and was released. Oden was committed to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $500 cash bail.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a total of 10 unlicensed dogs of varying ages and conditions around the Detroit Street residence, including one injured dog which was located in the trunk of the vehicle operated by Oden. The Erie County SPCA was notified, responded to the scene and seized the dogs for further evaluation.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
RIPLEY - Ryan G. Rummings, 25, of Bourne Street was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and charged with second-degree harassment on Dec. 3. At 8 p.m. deputies conducted a warrant check for Rummings in Ripley. He was located and taken into custody without incident. Rummings was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail pending arraignment.
RIPLEY - Michael T. Grinberg, 25, of West Main Street was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlicensed operator on Dec. 3. At 5 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop on Loomis Street. It is alleged Grinberg was operating a motor vehicle on a suspended licensed. He was arraigned in the Town of Ripley Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 property bail.
State Police at Jamestown
FREWSBURG - On Thursday, Randy Oakes, 54, of Salamanca was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
A trooper stopped him on Water Street for a reported traffic violation. Reportedly, the officer smelled marijuana when speaking to Oakes. The trooper searched the vehicle and reportedly found a bag containing three grams of marijuana.
Oakes was issued an appearance ticket.
STOW - John Mitchell, 34, of Corry, Pa., was charged Thursday with unlawful possession of marijuana.
A trooper pulled his vehicle over on Interstate 86 for a reported traffic violation. The officer reportedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. He searched the vehicle and reported locating two different containers with a total of three grams of marijuana.
Mitchell was issued an appearance ticket.
On Friday, Jacob Thomas, 27, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated.
He was pulled over for speeding. He was detained after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests.
He was transported to state police barracks in Jamestown where he provided a breath sample reported to be .10 percent. Thomas was processed, issued traffic tickets and released to a sober individual.
