OLEAN - Fredonia's Reed Porterfield was the lone bright spot for the Fredonia Hillbillies in their 131-51 defeat to Olean.
Porterfield took first in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:19.89 and first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.80.
Trystan Meyer took third place for Fredonia in the 100 butterfly while Jacob Brown placed second in the 100 freestyle. Matt Zevenbergen also placed third in the 100 backstroke.
Frewsburg 130,?Dunkirk 43
FREWSBURG - The Dunkirk Marauders opened up their season with a tough 130-43 defeat to Frewsburg on Tuesday in CCAA Division 1 boys high school swimmming.
Dunkirk's Charles Medema took first place in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:18.17. He also placed third in the in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:16.71.
Also for the Marauders, Josh Saye placed third in the 200 individual medley and 400 freestyle. Andrew Saye placed third in the 50 freestyle and second in the 100 breaststroke. Peter Kubera took second in diving.
