Democrats search for March election candidates

MAYVILLE - Norman P. Green, Chautauqua County Democratic Committee Chair, has announced that the Democratic Party is searching for candidates to run under the Democratic banner in 13 of the 15 county villages conducting elections next March. Nominations for the Democratic endorsement are made through village caucuses in January.

Active Democratic committees are currently making plans for village caucus nominations in Brocton, two trustees; Cherry Creek, two trustees; Falconer, three trustees; Fredonia, two trustees and a justice; Lakewood, two trustees; Silver Creek, mayor and two trustees; and Westfield, mayor, two trustees and a justice.

New Democratic leaders are also being sought to organize Democrats for January village caucuses in Bemus Point, two trustees; Cassadaga, mayor and two trustees; Forestville, mayor and two trustees; Panama, one trustee; Sherman, two trustees; and Sinclairville, mayor and two trustees.

Only the Village of Mayville has no vacancies this year and Celoron holds its elections in November. The voting will take place on March 11 for Fredonia and the remaining villages will vote on March 19.
