Pictured is a side view of the garage at the rear of 265 Lake Shore Drive E. that the city of Dunkirk Fire Department found fully involved when it arrived on the scene at 9:38 a.m. Monday. Crews used a 2 1/2 inch line to knock down the main body of fire, and a 1 3/4 inch line to hit remaining hot spots. The garage sustained significant damage to the roof and front portion of the building. The cause of the fire was the use of a torch for soldering pipe that ignited paint brushes and turpentine that were stored in the garage. The cause is accidental with human involvement.
