GOWANDA - Bernice V. Felong, 89, formerly of Perrysburg and Gowanda, NY passed away Monday (Dec. 10, 2012) in Pitts-ford, NY.
She was born June 22, 1923 in Gowanda, NY the daughter of the late Herbert and Bernice (Santmyers) Seymour.
Ms. Felong had worked at the Gowanda Psychiatric Center in the Occupational Therapy Department for 13 years, retiring in 1978. She then worked as a secretary for Mentley Funeral Home Inc. for 16 years, retiring in 1996.
Ms. Felong was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Bingenhimer, who passed away in 1964 and her second husband, Henry Felong, who passed away in 1982.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Mayers of Gowanda, NY and Susan (Tom) Pike of Victor, NY; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Bingenhimer, who passed away in 1950; two brothers, Julian and William Seymour; two sisters, Gladys Seymour and Mary Chase; and a step great grandson, Jordan Ondus.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main Street, Gowanda, NY on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sa-turday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Vern Saile officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Gowanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Perrysburg Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Gowanda Ambulance Service.
