Twenty years ago - 1992

Student of the Week is Carla McCutcheon, daughter of John and Marie McCutcheon of East Main Road, Ripley. A senior at Ripley Central School, she is an accomplished dancer in her 15th year of dance instruction. Carla is treasurer of her class and the National Honor Society and first chair flutist of the senior band. Named an All-American scholar, she is listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students." Carla plans to attend college following graduation.

Thirty years ago - 1982

The Fredonia Zoning Board has granted a variance requested by Henry Serafin, on behalf of Catoctin Broadcasting Corporation, for permission to locate a mobile structure on Clinton Avenue which would be utilized as a temporary radio broadcasting studio by WBUZ radio. Currently, the radio station owner leases space for his studio at 15 Water St., from Samuel DelPopolo, the building's owner.

Forty years ago - 1972

The St. Lucia Society of St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Dr. J.C. Turner, Cassadaga veterinarian, was honored by the Western New York Veterinarian Medical Society for being a 50-year member.

Fifty years ago - 1962

An inter-denominational group of young adults is in the process of being formed and will meet tonight at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Silver Creek. Everyone between the ages of 19-35 is invited to attend.
