Calendars still on sale

The 2013 Fredonia-Pomfret History Calendars are still available in limited quantity at the Book Nook at the D & F Plaza until sold out.

The calendars were done by Town of Pomfret Historian Todd Langworthy, featuring pictures and descriptions of many important people, places and events in our area's history. Calendars are $10 each while supplies last.

Thanks to the support of Copy Boy Printing, the calendars have been printed in laser quality at an affordable price that will make a great holiday gift for someone living either near or far.

Also for sale at the Book Nook are the entire series of local history books by Langworthy, including the fourth printing of "The Cushing Boys of Fredonia" and the popular "Images of America: Pomfret" book.

Red Cross helps Jamestown fire victims

The Southwestern NY American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) responded to provide disaster relief following a house fire on Peterson Street in Jamestown on Dec. 9.

DAT volunteer Pete Peterson was on scene to provide the initial disaster assistance. Housing, clothing and meals are services typically offered to address emergency needs. The local Red Cross chapter will continue working with the families and their recovery process if additional services or referrals are necessary.
