Lynn Giambrone, 62, of Fredonia died Sunday afternoon (Dec. 16, 2012) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 5, 1950 in Dunkirk, the daughter of Ann (Reilly) Szczerbacki of Fredonia and the late Robert Szczerbacki.
A lifelong resident of the Dunkirk-Fredonia area, Mrs. Giambrone had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital and The Resource Center, both in Dunkirk.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, David A. Giambrone Sr., whom she married Aug. 30, 1969; three daughters, Krista (Mark) Taylor of Fredonia, Sarah (Mark) Gugino of Charlotte, N.C., and Marissa (fiance Christopher Peters) Giambrone of Fredonia; one son, David (Melissa) Giambrone Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; four brothers, Robert (Claudia) Szczerbacki of Dunkirk, Richard Szczerbacki of Florida and David (Susan) Szczerbacki of Albany and Paul Szczerbacki of Florida; seven grandchildren, Jackson Taylor, Kyra Taylor, Mckenna Taylor, Andrew Gugino, Bryce Gugino, Giada Giambrone and Giovanni Giambrone; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:15 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Entombment will be in the Pieta Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fredonia Elementary PTA Playground Fund, 425 East Main St., Fredonia, NY 14063.
