Fredonia makes light work out of Falconer

The Fredonia Hillbillies made light work out of the Falconer Golden Falcons on Monday in CCAA Division 1 high school bowling.

Nate Wojtkowiak cracked a 236 game as the Hillbillies were victorious, 3-1.

Fredonia (7-13) combined for a 867-742-716-2,325 while Falconer (2-14) finished with a 694-752-701-2,147 at Lucky Lanes.

Jeff Rowe chipped in for the winners with a 182 while Collin Schanzlin added a 176.

Sam Ryttanbur was Falconer's high bowler with a 178 while Weston Young had a 170.

In the girls' match, the Lady Hillbillies (14-6) swept Falconer (0-20), 4-0, with a linescore of 709-774-775-2,258. Falconer rolled a 536-545-447-1,528.

High rollers for Fredonia were: Genna Riddle (213), Maitland Langworthy (190) and Elizabeth Valvo (171).

Hannah Wallace was the lone bright spot for Falconer with a 130.

Gowanda sweeps Jamestown

GOWANDA - The Gowanda Panthers took care of Jamestown.

Justin Grimm shined for Gowanda with a 203-223-268-694 as the boys edged Jamestown, 4-0.

Gowanda (16-4) finished with a 913-957-973-2,843 compared to Jamestown's 810-905-774-2,589 at K&L Lanes.

Trent Martin added a 173-203-184-560 for Gowanda while Jake-Hansen-Ivett bowled a 214 game for the winners.

The Red Raiders (11-9) were led by Chad Warner's 206-246-145-587 and Brandon Propheter's 210-186-143-539.

In the girls' game, though it was a 4-0 sweep for Gowanda, the Lady Panthers slipped past Jamestown

Gowanda (16-4) charted a 833-765-802-2,400 while Jamestown shot a 786-750-786-2,322.

Malyssa Farley led Gowanda with a 210-177-168-546 while Danielle Lesefrske cracked a 205-160-169-534 and Brittnee Stelley finished with a 168-163-182-513 in the win.

The Lady Raiders (14-6) were led by Andraya Vazquez's 198-164-180-542 and Sapphire Dean's 169-171-164-504.

Schnurr leads Dunkirk

Hannah Schnurr cracked a 183-175-150-508 as the Dunkirk Lady Marauders downed Southwestern, 3-1.

The Lady Marauders' linescore read 626-686-731-2,043 while Southwestern finished with a 563-722-582-1,867 at Lucky Lanes.

Harlie Kalfas shot a 165 game while Caitlyn Chase shot a 137.

For Southwestern, Shelby Kalfas bowled a 169-175-438 and Alexis Berry bowled a 165-419. Amanda Stewart finished with a 163-418 in a losing effort.

In the boys' match, Dunkirk and Southwestern split.

The Marauders bowled a 870-792-944-2,606 compared to Southwestern's 902-838-748-2,488.

Brandon Haase had a strong performance for the home team with a 191-184-231-606 while Alex Kubera cracked a 171-168-226-565. Peter Kubera (187), Randy Cooper (173) and Zach Crandall (176) all had strong performances for the Marauders.

Southwestern was led by Taylor West's 198-200-569 and Brett Worland's 201-179-527. Gabe Bursch shot a 171-185 and Blake Schrupe added a 186-172.

Division 2

Bulldogs get another sweep

CUTTING - Taylor Delcamp's 548 series paced the Brocton Bulldogs (25-3) to another sweep as they dismantled Clymer (4-24), 4-0.

Brocton's linescore read 873-779-857-2,510 while Clymer finished with a 735-637-602-1,729.

Andy Morrello added a 510 series for the winners.

The Pirates were led by David Applebee's 457 and Bradon Dobson's 409.

Knights bowl past Thunderbirds

SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek boys and girls bowling teams each swept CCAA Division 2 opponent Chautauqua Lake, Monday at Lakeview Lanes.

Tyler Steklasa helped the Black Knights (23-9) to a 4-0 win with his high game of 217 and 582 series. Tim Manning added a 526 series in the win.

Silver Creek's line of 799-829-768-2,396 bested Chautauqua Lake's 505-445-444-1,394.

Lizzy Golubski was once again the high bowler for the girls team. In her first match since smashing the school record with a 683 series, Golubski rolled a still-spectacular 242-204-606.

Tessa Gibbon added a 455 series as Silver Creek (23-5) teamed for a 578-622-640-1,840 to Chautauqua Lake's 490-490-480-1,460.

Heather Sullivan was tops for the Lady Thunderbirds (4-20) with a 443 series.

Silver Creek doesn't bowl again until after the break when it hosts Randolph on Monday, Jan. 7.
