The Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association is holding late registration for anyone interested in trying youth hockey from now until Dec. 28.
The Mite Division is for any youth born in 2004 or younger while Squirts are for anyone born in 2002-2003.
"The reason why we are doing late registration is we feel like people may have missed the original registration and figured they would wait til next year," said Mark Wojcinski, coaching and divisional coordinator. "We want to expose as many people as possible to the sport."
The fee for the rest of the season is $175 and equipment is available to use for the rest of the season.
The Squirt team has games Saturday and Sunday and practices Tuesdays from 6:15-7:15 p.m. The Mite team plays games Saturday and Sundays and practices Mondays from 6:15-7:15 p.m.
"We want as many people involved with hockey as possible," Wojcinski said. "Winter is a long season. We are together and working together for four or five months. We spend a lot of time together. Some traveling is involved. We have gone to Bradford, Pa. and South Buffalo. With this Squirt team, we will play about 20 games and then we are going to play in a couple tournaments, including our own in March. There is some travel, but every game we go to, we carpool and make an event out of it."
For registration forms, visit www.nccyha.com or contact Wojcinski at 404-9656.
Note: NCCYHA will also be hosting a Disco Night on Jan. 26, which will be open to the public. The event will feature raffles, giveaways and a cash bar. It is encouraged everyone dresses in 70s attire.
