Lion Tom Panasci was presented the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award at the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club's Charter Night Banquet.
Established in 1993, the Uplinger Award honors outstanding Lions and non-Lions or organizations who perform exemplary service to a club, district or community. These honorees possess the highest examples of Lionistic character, ideals, purpose and service. The award is presented as a recognition of the recipient's service.
Panasci joined the Dunkirk Fredonia Lions in 1999. He has served in many capacities for the club. He was the "Tail Twister," vice president and was named Lion of the Year in 2002. He served as president for two terms from 2004-2005.
