SANBORN - The Fredonia Hillbillies wrestling team had yet another dominant showing, Saturday at the Niagara Country Community College Invitational.
Pat McCarthy was the Lightweight Most Outstanding Wrestler with his 5-0 performance at 120 pounds. He improved his record to 18-1 on the season.
"Patrick had a really good tournament," Fredonia coach Alex Conti said. "He wrestled some pretty tough individuals. He looked sharp."
Zach Buckley also earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors for the upper weights. He also went 5-0 at 182 pounds, defeating Frewsburg's Austin Lynn 8-2 in the finals.
Zach Gloff (285 pounds), Christian Saden (220), Sean Sluberski (152), Jude Gardner (145), Dakota Gardner (132) and Tyler Cassidy (138) joined McCarthy and Buckley as class champions.
Steve Mignoli (160), Julius Woma (138), Jovany Ruiz (106) and Nick Nocek (195) each finished second for the Hillbillies.
Dunkirk's Hector Colom finished 4-0 to win the 106-pound championship.
Fredonia will participate in the Pine Valley Tournament next Saturday.
