GOWANDA - Peggy L. Luine, 88, of Broadway Road passed away peacefully Thursday (Dec. 20, 2012) at the ElderWood Health Care Center in Hamburg.
Peggy was born in Arkansas March 29, 1924, the only child of Lynn and Flossie (Threet) Nall. After high school Peggy attended Henderson State Teachers College in Arkansas; she married Vincent Luine of Gowanda in Arkadelphia, Ark. on May 21, 1944; Vincent passed away May 18, 2002.
Peggy was a note teller for the former Marine Mid-land Bank in Gowanda; her employment with Marine spanned more than 25 yrs. She was a member of the Tri-County Hospital Auxiliary, Legion Post 409 Auxiliary and the Gowanda Area Historical Society.
Surviving are a daughter, Victoria Nall Luine (husband David Russell), of Brooklyn, N.Y. and grandson, Richard Russell of Austin Texas. Peggy was referred to as "Aunt Peggy" by her nieces and nephews and her neighbor boys Jared, Brent and Zachary Bogardus. She will be missed by all who loved her.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the Spring, when Peggy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Vincent, in the Pine Hill Cemetery Gowanda. Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center St. Gowanda,(716)-532-4200 will announce when the service will take place.
Memorials in Peggy's name may be made to the Gowanda Area Historical Society or to the charity of one's choice.
