LAKEWOOD - Many think of Chautauqua Mall as just a place to shop, but there is much more to the shopping center than meets the eye.
"Chautauqua Mall teams up with local non-profit organizations year after year to help raise funds for many different causes. This year has been invigorating as St. Susan Center Soup Kitchen was one of the many we teamed up with," Cynde Breneman, Chautauqua Mall's director of marketing and business development said.
In 2011, St. Susan Center served over 95,000 meals. The need has increased year to year and without the support of the community it could not keep its doors open for those in need.
Chautauqua Mall is a proud supporter of the community and bringing in St. Susan Center for the holiday season encouraged more individuals to give.
Sears inside Chautauqua Mall "piggy backed" with a fundraiser and was able to help raise over $800 for the St. Susan Center.
Store Manager, Kathi Starkweather said she found out about the Chautauqua Mall fundraiser and wanted to get involved.
"It's such a great feeling when you give and it trickles through many and more help is given. Our community is very fortunate to have the motivated individuals we have. Together we all make a difference," Breneman added.

St. Susan Center
