Fredonia High School announces its December ‘PRIDE’ students

Shawn Epps is the FHS PRIDE Student of the Month for 12th grade. Epps is the son of Anthony and Sarah Epps. Shawn's favorite subject in school is science. His hobbies, sports, and activities include drawing, reading and Quiz Club. His plans following high school are to go to college. Epps says his favorite teacher is "Mrs. Terrill, because she stays after with me every day and is always willing to help me." The person Epps most admires in history is Martin Luther King Jr., "because he was a big part of the Civil Rights Movement and he taught us that you don't need to fight to be heard." The most important thing Epps has learned in school is "that trying your best in school is the best choice because once you are out of school your grades are all you have to take you anywhere."

Cody Cunningham is the PRIDE Student of the Month for 11th grade. Cody is the son of Jeff and Vicky Cunningham. His favorite subject in school is Principles of Engineering. His hobbies, sports, and activities include basketball and working out. His plans following high school are to go to college for either engineering or business. Cunningham says his favorite teacher is "Mrs. Corcoran, because she always seems to be happy and cheerful and encourages everyone." The person in history that he most admires is "Richard Winters, because he was a great military leader and war hero." The most important thing he has learned in school is "the Quadratic Formula."

Kelsey Aldrich is the PRIDE Student of the Month for tenth grade. Aldrich is the daughter of Brian and Ann Aldrich. Aldrich doesn't have a favorite subject in school. Her hobbies, sports, and activities include Student Council, JV Volleyball, Model UN, volunteering to work in the nursery and live stream at church and Compass Youth Group. Aldrich's plans following high school are to attend college. Aldrich does not have a favorite teacher, but states: "I don't think I can choose. I've been fortunate to have teachers that love what they do and are good at it." The person Aldrich most admires in history is "pretty much anyone who went against what's normal to do what is right, no matter the consequences." The most important thing Aldrich has learned in school is from a C.S. Lewis quote: "Experience is the most brutal of teachers, but you learn the most from it."

Clare Foley is the PRIDE Student of the Month for ninth grade. Foley is the daughter of Scott and Ellen Foley. Foley's favorite subject in school is English. Her hobbies, sports, and activities include cross country, track, Madrigals, playing piano, playing violin, Student Council and Key Club. Foley's plans following high school are to attend college. Foley says her favorite teacher is "Mr. Raghunath, because he makes chorus very interesting." The person Foley says she admires most is her dad "because he is very helpful, honest and caring." The most important thing Foley has learned in school is "that you don't have to be the smartest at what you do, just try your best."
